Eating Poetry was founded by (me) Chaya Silberstein in 2005. It started as a blog and evolved to include edible treats served at Art Gallery Receptions, Weddings, Baby Showers, Film Festivals, and Poetry Events. My mission is to share the joys of poetry with you. It has always been an incredible vehicle for me that not only got me through hardships, but also led to very interesting experiences such as Activity Director at Senior Retirement Homes, teacher for adolescents and pre-schoolers, "Roving Poet" for Art 4All People from Malibu to Los Angles to Bolinas, CA. I am so lucky to have served poetry at the Very Venice Art Gallery, MAESTRA Film Festival, Abbot Kinney Festival with The Venice Arts Council and Beyond Baroque, LAROA at Bergamot Station with Muyingo Events, Witz End, Danny's, and The Love Dome. I performed regularly (2013-2016) with Voice in the Well of L.A. Theater Works. In 2012, I published a coffee-table book with photographer Erik Fisher, The Echo of Dreams, in which two poems were featured in 'True Freedom' a dance video, performed by dancer/reality star Asaf Goren. In 2017, together with 56 authors, my poem, "In the Presence of Grief" was included in Just a Little More Time an anthology on love and loss . I am a regular contributor to the Pen Name, a local print newspaper in Culiver City, CA, and write personalized gift poems for Poetry Salon. I am an editor for Quantum-Touch, for whom I create weekly newsletters, as well as compile an ebook with hundreds of healing stories. I currently live in Los Angeles, CA.
